I’ve just seen that the ad now says they’ll be seeking new applications in late summer so it looks like they are still going ahead with further recruitment – maybe noone had updated the job post for a while!

The practice Tea OCC from the above link has helped me loads. I started practising about 2 weeks ago and I’ve definitely noticed that I’m more accurate now! Would recommend that one to practice from if you need extra help with that test too 🙂

From what I’ve heard from people recruited by Northern, it’s definitely dots.

It says they’re looking to recruit in late spring which we’re past now so I think its going to be a while waiting for the next recruitment round 😞

Do you have any idea of traits they are looking for in train drivers in the structured interview?

Great, so its in the structured interview that they’ll ask more questions about my experiences that ive been in working under pressure etc and then MMI is more focused on the role and what I know about the company?

Hey, thanks for all these great tips! I don’t think I would of thought to prepare for some of these! Def need to knuckle down to get some good responses prepared. Is the MMI much harder than the structured?

Thanks for all your help. Yes, I am really chuffed. I was expecting it to take me 1-2 years before getting to this stage as I’ve read other people’s stories. Just one other question, do you know if this test is taken on the computer or is it paper based?

    Thanks Steve. Yes, very helpful!

I’m applying to south west trains. Had this list from them of the tests I’ll be taking:

    Trainability for Rules and procedures
    Tea OCC paper test
    ATAVT
    The 2hand coordination test
    Group Bourdon concentration test
    Test of Vigilance (WAFV)
    Written communication test
    Colour vision

Any advice for these too? I guess I should just keep practising with the pack they sent me? Will this be enough?
